A Historic Evening: “Together We Shine”
On the evening of Friday, May 8, 2026, Stafford Centre hosted a landmark event: “Together We Shine: An AAPI Multicultural Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary.” This spectacular celebration was not only a tribute to 250 years of American history, but also a vibrant, multicultural stage honoring the extraordinary contributions of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community to this great nation.
“Dạ Khúc Áo Dài” — Vietnamese Elegance Meets the American Spirit
Representing the Vietnamese community in Texas, Team VyBrows Beauty — under the masterful direction of CEO & Creative Director Thanh Vy — delivered a breathtaking performance titled “Dạ Khúc Áo Dài — The Soul of Vietnam on American Soil.”
A centerpiece of the evening was the “Unity is Grace” collection — a stunning line of Áo Dài featuring the stars and stripes of the American flag — crafted by designer Julio Quang. By weaving the iconic red, white, and blue motifs into Vietnam’s traditional dress, the performance sent a powerful cultural message of harmony and gratitude toward their adopted homeland. To achieve those luminous moments, 15 performers rehearsed tirelessly for 6 weeks, moving to an emotional Vietnamese-American musical score co-created by Thanh Vy and musician Ian.
Phương Dung Đỗ reflected with emotion:
“There are emotions that are very hard to put into words... The pride we felt representing the Vietnamese community in Texas — performing to honor the beauty of the Áo Dài alongside representatives from communities around the world at ‘Together We Shine’... A beautiful mark, an unforgettable memory! Thank you, teacher Thanh Vy, for always being dedicated so we could shine together. Thank you, designer Julio Quang, for the Áo Dài collection... the beauty of the Vietnamese soul.”
— Phương Dung Đỗ
Châu Hoàng shared her heartfelt sentiments:
“There are moments that are more than just a performance. It is an emotion that is very difficult to describe — the pride of bringing Vietnam’s image to stand in the heart of America... This is not just a stage act. It is a collective memory. A shared pride. A beautiful mark of the Vietnamese on American soil. Gratitude to Thanh Vy — VyBrows Beauty Academy — who breathed life into this entire artistic journey. Thank you, designer Julio Quang... From Houston, we brought the Vietnamese Áo Dài to touch the hearts of the world.”

The Eagle Trophy — A Great Honor for a Vietnamese-Owned Business
The most spectacular image of the evening was the moment representatives from multiple cultures — Vietnam, Japan, Korea, and beyond — gathered on stage to spread the message of unity. And VyBrows Academy was honored to be presented with the prestigious Eagle Trophy by the City of Stafford — a soaring Bald Eagle atop the American flag. The bronze nameplate reads:
“Presented to Vybrows Academy For Outstanding contributions to The AAPI Celebration Honoring The U.S. 250th Anniversary — City of Stafford, May 8, 2026”

Reflecting on the 6-week journey with her team of 15, CEO Thanh Vy shared proudly:
“I want to thank every member of the team for completing the mission brilliantly last night... Thank you to Apple TV Houston for entrusting this great responsibility to us — to represent the uniqueness and gratitude of the Vietnamese people in our beloved second homeland of America. That trophy is a tremendous honor. Being chosen and recognized by the organizing committee is truly a great glory.”
— CEO Thanh Vy, VyBrows Beauty
